If you've ever taken a look at my storm chasing blog from my travels last spring, you'd know I am a HUGE fan of mamathus clouds. For those of you who aren't meteorologists, basically these cool clouds are an indication of severe weather nearby (often these large displays come from dying severe thunderstorms). The violent updrafts in storms that give thunderstorms an "anvil" are part of the process that cause these clouds as well. That's the best way I can explain it. Basically if severe storms just passed nearby and it's sunset, TAKE OUT THAT CAMERA!
