A late July tour around the garden...

It's the hottest first 2/3 of summer on record so far for Long Island. Summer wraps up fast in August, but there's still plenty of time left to enjoy the garden! I'm a little disappointed in my tropical hibiscus & the plumeria haven't had as many blooms as usual either, but otherwise it's been a good season so far.

My Ensete is having a slow year, but the other bananas are rocking and rolling. I have some citrus fruit on my orange to look forward to. Life is good in the garden!

Let's talk bananas! Musa Sikkimensis, Ensete Maurelli, and Musa Ae Ae

Massive Canna musafolia Rubra

Musa Siam Ruby on year 3.

Musa velutina

Ensete Maurelli, a nice new flush on the sago palm, and my citrus growing well in the driveway

Hi Zinnia I didn't plant you!

My Hedychium Vanilla Ice and new Washingtoia filifera. NO growth since I got it a month ago, hopefully I can get a frond to push through in August.

Canna peekaboo

Desert Rose

Very few blooms on my tropical hibiscus. At least my variegated hibiscus in the middle has some buds and my larger Hibiscus tiliaceus is looking as lush as ever!

Medinilla myriantha is thriving. The flowers on that lower inflorescence have developed into berries !

Shade garden with Fatsia, Jack in the pulpit, and my bat Flower (Tacca chantrieri)

Fishtail Palm and Passiflora x alato-caerulea. Really excited for the blooms onthat!

Ti Plant singapore Twist

Look at that sexy Fuschia "Gartenmeister". I NEED to plant more of these next year. They are blooming their heads off!!

Needle Palm with Musa Velutina

Queen Emma Crinium and variegated Cordyline

Heliconia and variegated yucca gigantea (hi Monstera Thai Consellation)

The mandevilla are also slow this year. Trachycarpus latisectus on the left side.

Some patio plants. Ficus Tineke and my New Zealand Flax lily are looking great!

Flamethrower, Triangle Palm, and Plumeria Melody

A few more photos!

Thanks for looking!
