My Garden in Early May - shade looks great but sunny spots not so much!

Things are coming along faster in my shade gardens than the sunny areas because I don't have to acclimate the indoor plants quite as much to the sun levels here. Let's start with the front porch! Bismarkia is still looking a little awkward from the cold damage a year ago. Queen palm thrived in the garage along with the chamadorea microspadix. Clivia is coming along but might need to be repotted!

Loving this combo!

In full sun, the windmill palm is looking ok after its first winter. I had rot on the bottom of my Ensete but new roots are growing and so are new leaves so we'll just have to wait and see on that one!

Yucca Tromping Around with Encore Azalea

Off to the pond area! My variegated Cranium, an Ensete I grew at work, and my Australian Tree fern. Farther in the background you can see my Arecea, my variegated yucca gigantes, and my variegated cordyline

Flamethrower palm hanging out in shade with my Musa Ae Ae for another week

Variegated Alocasia

Palm Grass (Curculigo capitulata) , Dieffenbachia, and Farfugium japonica. Livistona still waking up!

And in the sun garden you can see my Musa sikkimensis waking up

Hibiscus tillaceus looks ok with the Bird of Paradise. Queen Emma Crinum is quite burnt as usual

Bleeding Heart

A few early May blooms

Viburnum plicatum tomentosum

Pansies

Dahlia Go Go Pink

Gold Prinz Rhododendron hybrid 'Goldschatz'

Dahlia Bishop of York

Farmingdale Plant Sale finds!

I had an incredible visit at the annual Farmingdale State College Plant sale. All the proceeds go to support the horticulture department at the college and many of the plants are student grown. and WOW do they have a great variety of plants. Check out what I got this time!

Not sure what this giant fern is, looks very much like a Kangaroo Paw. I'm thinking it is a Blue Star Fern (Phlebodium aureum)

Palm Grass (Curculigo capitulata)

Variegated Geraniums!

A GIANT farfugium japonica

Cold hardy Crinum - Crinum bulbispermum?

Excited about this Paintbrush lily (Haemanthus albiflos)

St Elmos fire Geranium!

A HUGE alocasia!

Variegated Crinum Lily

Me and my momma!

And some of the plants I didn't get but DEFINITELY appreciated!
