Plumeria update!

The plumerias are coming into bud and bloom in my garden on Long Island. Here's a look at what's hot and what's not this year!

My very reliable Plumeria Jenny! I used to have this in my dorm room at rutgers!

Plumeria Inca Gold didn't bloom last year - this year it has 6 inflos!!Also check out those dwarf sunflowers!
Plumeria California Sunset is taking a break from blooming this year

Plumeria Maya
Plumeria Jackie. Definitely a reliable and small sized plumeria. This might be one of my favorites. Great form and a reliable bloomer. This year I have 2 inflos

What in the world is this Hibiscus? I got it from the Farmingdale State College Plant Sale as "Peppermint"

A few gardenia blooms

I purchased this Frostproof Gardenia in the spring from Maple Leaf Farm and Gardens in NJ. It's huge but I don't think I was prepared for all of these blooms. The fragrance fills my entire parents backyard! The Pink Diamond Corydline Ti Plant is looking amazing too. Definitely my easiest ti!

My Crown Jewel Gardenia has been in the ground for many years and it's blooming now as well!

On Long Island, I'm trying Chuck Hayes in my front yard for the first time. I have a frostproof in the back by the pond that hasn't started blooming yet.

My Aloe Vera is blooming!

This is a first for me! These plants are huge so it's no surprise that they decided to bloom. I think what surprised me is how gorgeous and yellow the flowers area!

Desert Rose in full bloom

After a week of heat, the Desert Rose is living it's BEST life!

Same pic, just a little better because I'm not in it!

Love the double flowers

We also have to talk about the Easter Cactus blooming this week (Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri)

Such a cutie - can plants be cute?

Musa Sikkimensis is living its best life too. I love the upright leaves

Thanks for looking!

Evergreen Dogwood (Cornus capitata)

Evergreen Dogwood (Cornus capitata) is a pretty reliable shrub here in New York. When we had a cold winter a few years ago, there was some dieback and total leaf drop, but it recovered beautifully. It blooms in June!

Desert Blooms (& a few others too) in mid-June

You might be surprised to see these desert-look alikes thriving in New York!

This is the best bloom year I've ever seen for yuccas in my parents yard and in the area in general!

Yucca filamentosa

Yucca gloriosa var tristis
'

It's a great season for southern Magnolia!

My sabal minor sets seed every year

Yucca gloriosa is native to coastal parts of the southeastern US, but do incredibly well in NY. I actually didn't plant any of these! It's the first time I've had blooms on these plants after watching them grow as little "weeds" 20 years ago!

Who says you can't have color in the shade. Rex Begonia looking lovely along with abutilon and a really unusual shield leaf begonia.

Here are a few other blooms!
